I've been using Downing for years & have never had a complaint. They check it out ever year. Recently I returned from vacation & found the furnace would not click on. I called them & they came out that same day. The repairman found the problem, had the part in his truck & now my furnace works like a charm! The repairman was perfect. And the furnace is quieter than it used to be. Love their service!

Great experience with this company. I sent an email asking for info, got a call the next day. The technician came when scheduled - and they gave me a one-hour window, which is a rare thing! He was polite, professional, and thorough, if a bit chatty. He gave me information and explanations about what he was doing. He told me my 25-yr-old furnace was performing well, but that if it starts misbehaving, I shouldn't spend money on fixing it, but rather to replace it. And he informed me that he saw evidence of rats under my house. I appreciated that, even if I didn't like hearing it! They gave me an accurate quote for servicing my heater and A/C system, and performed all the work in about an hour and a half.

I can't say enough positive things about Steven and his company. My heat went out on of course the coldest and windiest day ever! I had called a couple of local HVAC companies and was put off until the next workday. After a friend recommended Steven to me I called him at 7 am on a Saturday morning and he was here within an hr. My first google review, but these guys were fantastic and knowledgeable. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DOWNING!!! Of course, my experience with another heating company that starts with Br*** may be the reason. The other company came out, and within 10 minutes declared my 15 year old furnace needed a new control board and quoted about $2,000 (and of course, tried to upsell me on a new furnace!!! ). First of all, the board is only $315 on the internet, and secondly, Downing came out, saw that my polarity was reversed and fixed my problem within a service window. The Downing technician John was professional, respectful, knowledgeable, and was able to fix the problem quickly. I highly recommend Downing - they're not trying to upsell, just doing a quality job! Thank you!!!!

"I want to express my gratitude for the excellent service we got from your technician, Nick, who came to our very cold house, just before Christmas and not only repaired our old Amana furnace (which continues to work just fine) but also saved us from a cold house and a huge charge for a replacement furnace that another company had declared we needed. When our furnace began to function poorly—and at a cold holiday time when it was hard to find a provider available—the first company sent a technician who told us there was a crack in the heat exchanger, so we would need a new furnace—and that he was required by law to turn it off. He was a nice guy but we are “always get at least two opinions” people.” He shut down the furnace and arranged for their estimator to come the next day, which he did, leaving us with a pending cost of $13,000-15,000. When Nick came an hour later, he studied the furnace carefully, agreed it was old but not convinced the heat exchanger was the problem, turned it on to test it, changed the filter and made some adjustments, and left us already warmer and a very reasonable bill. So we are very grateful to Nick and to Downing for the quality of the work you provide"

John arrives on time after the company called to say he was on his way, and enters the house after pulling protective coverings over his shoes. He lays a protective cloth in front of the heater and neatly sets out his toolkit. He opens the heater and inspects every part, testing some with his tools. He didn't find anything wrong in this visit, but in the last one he found and fixed many problems. He works in a quick and relaxed manner. He chats pleasantly as he works. He writes the company name and date of the visit on the front of the heater so we'll know when he worked on it. He thoroughly describes what he did, what he found, what he recommends going forward. Then he cleans up and picks up his gear, leaving nothing behind, writes his report and finishes his billing. My heater now works perfectly again. I wish all my service technicians were as professional and effective as John is.
