ENERGY STAR® Central Natural Gas Furnaces

Qualifying products purchased and installed April 17, 2003, through December 31, 2003, are eligible for 2003 Home Energy Efficiency Rebates. Qualifying products purchased January 1, 2003, through April 16, 2003, may be eligible for rebates under the 2002 program. You may be eligible for a $200 rebate by purchasing and having a licensed heating, ventilation and air conditioning (C-20) contractor install a qualifying ENERGY STAR central natural gas furnace. Depending on where you live and the size of the unit, a properly sized and installed ENERGY STAR furnace will use about 20% less energy than a standard furnace. Inform the representative that you need the Rebate Form for an ENERGY STAR central natural gas furnace. Review the proof of purchase requirements and specification sheet, then contact a licensed C-20 contractor of your choice to provide an installation proposal for the qualifying product. You may wish to contact more than one contractor to obtain multiple proposals for various energy-efficient models that meet your specific needs. You can contact the Contractors State License Board, CSLB, at 1 (800) 321-CSLB or at www.cslb.ca.gov to confirm your contractor's license status. Inform each contractor from whom you obtain a proposal that you will be applying for a Pacific Gas and Electric Company rebate and must choose qualifying products in order to participate.
